Designing agricultural grasses to help mitigate proteolysis during ensiling to optimize protein feed provisions for livestock

چکیده
The efficient preservation of protein in silage for livestock feed is dependent on the rate and extent proteolysis. Previous research fresh forage indicated enhanced stability certain Festulolium (ryegrass × fescue hybrids) cultivars compared to ryegrass. This first report an experiment test hypothesis that a Lolium perenne Festuca arundinacea var glaucescens cultivar had reduced proteolysis perennial ryegrass (L. perenne) during ensiling process. Forages were harvested May (Cut 2) August 4), wilted 24 h ensiled laboratory-scale silos. Silage was destructively sampled at 0 h, 9 48 72 14 days 90 post-ensiling, dry matter (DM), pH chemical composition determined. At Cut 2, there no difference crude between treatments but higher soluble nitrogen (SN) (P < 0.001) grass time interactions (p = 0.03) rates By 4, (5.5% units) CP than SN did not differ. Ammonia-N differ silages either cut. DM differences (11.8% 4 (v.2.2% may have masked effects proteolysis, highlighting importance management quality. despite WSC both cuts 0.001), with 2; p showing slower decline 0.001). values grasses cut, showed cuts, resulting 0.05) Cuts 2 respectively. Overall, when as ruminant evidenced by lower ammonia-N early-cut comparable

Contractual Provisions to Mitigate Holdup: Evidence from Information Technology Outsourcing
T complexity and scope of outsourced information technology (IT) demands relationship-specific investments from vendors, which, when combined with contract incompleteness, may result in underinvestment and inefficient bargaining, referred to as the holdup problem. Using a unique data set of over 100 IT outsourcing contracts, we examine whether contract extensiveness, i.e., the extent to which f...
متن کاملAgricultural opportunities to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
Agriculture is a source for three primary greenhouse gases (GHGs): CO(2), CH(4), and N(2)O. It can also be a sink for CO(2) through C sequestration into biomass products and soil organic matter. We summarized the literature on GHG emissions and C sequestration, providing a perspective on how agriculture can reduce its GHG burden and how it can help to mitigate GHG emissions through conservation...
متن کاملDesigning Manufacturing Facility Layouts to Mitigate Congestion
When workflow congestion is prevalent, minimizing total expected material handling time is more appropriate than minimizing a distanced-based objective in manufacturing facility layout design. We present a model labeled Full Assignment Problem with Congestion (FAPC), which simultaneously optimizes the layout and flow routing. FAPC is a generalization of the Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP), a...
متن کاملDesigning Views to Optimize Real Queries
This paper considers the following problem: given a query workload, a database, and a set of constraints, design a set of views that give equivalent rewritings of the workload queries and globally minimize the evaluation costs of the workload on the database under the constraints. We refer to this problem as “view design for query performance,” or “view design” for short; sets of views that sat...
